It is recommended that these options be set to Yes, No, and No, respectively.
Under Forum Look and Feel Options, choose all the colors you want to be displayed for the new forum, or leave it set at the default colors so it will look the same as all the other website modules.

To Lock/Unlock or Remove a Thread

Senior administrators, forum administrators, and forum moderators all have the capability of locking or unlocking threads in the forums under their jurisdiction. A "thread" is a discussion that includes the original posted topic and one or more replies. When a thread is locked, it means no one is able to add, update, or delete anything on that topic. When an administrator or moderator unlocks a thread, it opens the topic up for discussion again. The administrators and moderators are also able to add, update, or delete information from an unlocked thread in the forums they are responsible for.

From the website main page, click the Forums text link. The next screen displays the current forums.
Click on a forum name. The next screen displays all the Boards listed under that forum.
Click on a board name. The next screen displays all the topics listed under that board.

Click the Remove Thread button. The final screen displays confirmation that the thread has been removed and returns you to the messages page under your chosen topic.

To Move a Thread

Note: When moving a thread, for best results, lock the thread several minutes before the move. Allow enough time for the users to make their way out of the topic. After moving, unlock the thread and post a reply to the topic notifying this is the new location of this topic. Also, it is recommended that you post a new topic (lock this permanently) notifying the users at the topics original location that is has been moved.

Warning: When you complete the move, the system will not only relocate the thread to the new board but will also relocate you to the new board. To return to the old board, you may use either the tree provided on the upper right side of the screen or the 'Jump To' option.

Follow steps one through four under Lock/Unlock a Thread (above).
Click the Move a Thread text link. The next screen displays the Move a Thread screen.
Select the forum you would like to move the thread to by using the drop-down list next to the New Location option.
Highlight the new forum by clicking on it's name.
Click the Move Thread button.

Banning a User

Banning a user from the Forums Module will remove the user's privileges to post topics and replies under the current IP address they are connected from. If a user has a dynamic IP number (one that changes every time they connect to the Internet) as opposed to a static IP number (one that has been assigned by their Internet provider and does not change) they will probably be able to register again and continue posting. This points out the importance of having a combination of several senior administrators, forum administrators, and board moderators, that can watch the Forums for unruly behavior.

Follow steps one through four under Lock/Unlock a Thread (above).
Click the Ban User text link under the authorís name. The Ban User screen will be displayed.
Click the Ban User button. The next screen displays confirmation of the user being banned and returns you to the messages page under your chosen Forum.
