125 Question Self Assessment Test to Determine if you need more training before accepting claims
|

Wow- I can't believe it has been this long since I updated this blog at Claims-Portal for new adjusters. We've been posting all of our updates at www.dimechimes.wordpress.com since July of 2007 so you can also follow them there. I'll get better about adding links to important new information here as well.
We continue to receive hundreds of resumes each year from newly licensed independent adjusters. Their resumes contain information basically stating "have license ready for assignment" type comments. Many are generated because the individuals have agency or construction backgrounds and they are seeking independent property claim assignments.
We developed a 125 question self- assessment test for new adjusters to take to determine if they in fact do think they are ready to go OR if they realize after taking it that there is quite a bit of more training they need to take. Here is a link so you too can take this self assessment test:
http://dimechimes.wordpress.com/2009/02/13/have-license-ready-to-go-not-so-quick-take-this-self-assessment-test/
We do offer a 50 hour online Fundamentals of Claims class for property adjusters newly licensed so they understand what is actually required to process a claim and to follow proper protocol in the claims industry for handling customer relationships and file requirements. This is through www.ClaimSmentor.com and our next class starts up Monday June 8, 2009. We cover all topics included in the self assessment test and much much more!
I also highly recommend the online classes now offered through Crawford and Companies online classes through www.KMCondemand.com where they offer basic adjusting classes for property, auto, and new workers compensation adjusters. They have an extremely reasonable Charter membership option where you can take ALL of their classes for $135.00 versus paying for them individually.
We have been concentrating and investigating sources of all online classes available for new adjusters so they can avoid the 10K or more we hear they have been paying travelling all over the US attending field seminars. It has just gotten too costly with gas pricing and travel.
I'll post additional information on required carrier certification classes which are also required by all major carriers before they will assign independent adjusters to work their claims through their approved independent adjusting companies.
